This 1950’s home renovation was designed for a retired couple in Peterborough’s East City area. The original kitchen was secluded from the other parts of the house and did not have much access to daylight making it feel dark and uninviting.

A small addition was made to the back of the home to allow for more usable space and to add a fully opening back door to create a seamless transition between the kitchen and back deck. Beneath the addition, a new bathroom and shower were added to make use of the new space.

The renovation uses a warm toned scheme with light coloured wood and a cork floor in the kitchen. The new bathroom uses a neutral tone with some splashes of colour throughout.
